My teaching interests, assignments and methodology....
As faculty in Business Management I offer courses in the area of Information Technology, Systems Management, MIS and E-business. I also offer specialized courses on IT Enabled Services/BPO Management and Enterprise Computing. All my courses are cross functional in nature drawing heavily from other functions of management. Currently I teach part-time and weekends only.
Core Courses (I Year MBA) Offered
Elective Courses (II Year MBA) Offered
Teaching methodology/Pedagogy I primarily use CASE method of teaching along with lectures for regular and executive MBA classes. Depth and origin of cases (or caselets/mini-cases) differ depending upon the level of the class (as in Indian conditions majority of the class with no work experience). Student assessment is continuous with a mix group and solo assignments. Assessment mix consists of case analysis and presentations, mid and end of term tests, quizzes, submissions and viva-voce. Occasionally I use RFP/RFQ submissions, business plans or term/research papers for capstone courses like ITES/BPO management and E-business. I have taught pure technology courses in networking/internetworking, however I prefer more of cross functional courses as relevant to MBA curriculum. I also offer hands-on labs on enterprise suites depending on the availability of the same. I have summarized my experiences as a faculty in an Indian Business School and presented the same under different sub-pages of facultyzone. The quote from John Dewey below summarizes my teaching philosophy.
